Hey paddle heads! 👋 Let's talk about something not super sexy but super important: taking care of your board. I see so many people tossing their gear into the trunk and forgetting it for weeks. Don't be that person! 😱
Your iTAOSTAR Wild is built tough (that military-grade PVC is no joke), but even tanks need maintenance. Here is my quick cheat sheet to keep your board looking fresh for years:
The "Rinse or Regret" Rule 🚿
Saltwater and sand are basically kryptonite for zippers and valves.
- After every saltwater trip: Rinse it down with fresh water. Seriously.
- Sand check: Make sure no sand gets stuck in the valve cap. That little grain can ruin your inflation day.
Storage Smarts 🏠
Don't leave it inflated in the hot sun for days on end unless you're using it. Heat expands air, and pressure builds up. If you aren't paddling for a month, deflate it loosely (don't fold it tight like a taco 🌮) and store it in that massive 120L backpack it came with. It fits everything perfectly, keeping your board safe from sharp objects in the garage.
Valve Love ❤️
Check your valve occasionally. Is it loose? Use the included wrench to tighten it up just a tad. A loose valve = a sinking feeling (literally).
Pro Tip: Keep your board out of direct sunlight when not in use. UV rays are the silent killer of inflatable boards. Shade is your friend! ☂️
Keep it clean, keep it happy, and it'll keep you floating! 🌊
